About Icon Guitars
Icon Guitars, Inc. is a guitar boutique that speaks to the myriad of fine musicians, that live here on Martha's Vineyard. Such notables as Steve Tully, The whole Taylor clan, Carly Simon, Johnny Hoy, Maynard Silva, Paul Size, Jeremy Berlin, Eric Johnson, Charlie Terry, Eddy Larkosh, John Alamo, and many others have created a wonderful musical environment, while living on island. With this rich musical tradition, one would expect to find a place with beautiful instruments that will inspire the plethora of fine musicians that live and visit here.
As a guitar player myself, I wanted to go into the local music shop to set my sights on a guitar that would wow me! If a sweet guitar was going to be procured, it was going to be through Boston or New York City.
So, I established Icon Guitars, Inc. to give the musicians of Martha's Vineyard access to fine musical instruments.
When considering which guitar manufacturers to buy from, I simply wanted the best, highest quality guitars and basses. I also wanted something unique and exotic. And because I always loved Jerry Garcia, I developed a relationship with Alembic, who not only make exquisite guitars, basses, and electronics, but are also wonderful people. Now, not only are the Alembics available on Martha's Vineyard, but the rest of New England as well.
